Who we are
Freedom Merchant Exchange LLC (FME) buys the future receivables of small and mid-sized U.S. businesses, an arrangement commonly called a merchant cash advance. We offer investment terms to accredited investors only, and any offer is made solely through a private placement memorandum. FME is not a bank or a lender.

What the Investor Resource Center is for
The Investor Resource Center publishes plain-English guides for everyday and active investors: reading company filings, choosing an advisor, retirement accounts, alternative investments and due diligence. Each guide is written to be useful whether or not the reader ever invests with FME.
Our editorial standards
Education, not advice
Guides explain how things work and how to make a decision. They do not tell any reader what to buy or sell, and they are not personalized investment, tax or legal advice.
Primary sources
Facts and figures come from primary sources wherever possible, such as SEC.gov, Investor.gov, FINRA, the IRS, the Federal Reserve and company filings. Sources are linked in the text so readers can check them, and limits that change each year are confirmed against the current official figure before publication.
No promises about returns
Guides never describe an investment as safe, risk-free or guaranteed, and every guide about an investment type covers its risks. Guides do not state FME's offering terms.
Independence from our own offering
FME is mentioned at most briefly and never in a guide's opening answer. If every mention of FME were removed, each guide should still fully answer its question. When a comparison includes FME, it says so plainly.
Dates and updates
Every guide shows when it was published and, when revised, when it was last updated.
